Artificial Intelligence (AI) research is about understanding if it is possible to make computers perform tasks that normally require human thinking, such as:
- Understanding speaking
- Interpreting what the eye can see
- Learning from mistakes
- Making a decision
Some of the more well-known examples of AI include smart phone assistants (such as Siri and Alexa), self-driving cars, and chess-playing computers. But AI is also used to understand datasets that are too big for humans to comprehend with something called machine learning.
