Biotechnology research is about using biological knowledge to develop new technologies and invent or enhance methods to produce products such as:
- Biofuels
- Antibiotics and other drugs
- Insulin and other hormones
- Crops with enhanced properties
- Enzymes (e.g. used in laundry detergents)
Biotechnologists use techniques such as molecular biology and genetic engineering, with one of the more recent techniques being the genomic scissors called CRISPR/Cas9. We welcome researchers to submit articles in all fields relating to biotechnology.
